Understanding the Structure of the Human Body
The Department of Anatomy provides students with a strong foundation in the structural organisation of the human body. Through systematic study of gross anatomy, microscopic anatomy (histology) and developmental anatomy (embryology), students develop an understanding of normal human structures forming the basis of clinical practice.
Practical Learning in Anatomy
- 🧑⚕️ Cadaveric Dissection: Hands-on experience through dissection of cadavers for spatial orientation and direct structural study.
- 🦴 Osteology Museum: Systematic study of bones, landmarks, articulations, and anatomical relationships with articulated and unarticulated skeletons.
- 🔬 Histology Lab: Microscopic study of tissues and organs correlating structure with normal function.
- 🔹 Embryology & Clinical Anatomy: Human developmental milestones from conception to birth, and surface marking for clinical examination.
